SAMUEL JOSHUA FOSTER
Samuel Joshua Foster, native of Georgia and resident of San Bernardino for 13 years, died yesterday in a hospital near San Bernardino. He was 84 years old. Surviving are three sons, John L. Foster of San Bernardino, Julian Foster of Parsons, Kan., and Milton Foster of Elton, Kan., and two daughters, Mrs. John J. Piatt of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Casey Elliott of Corpus Cristi, Texas. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Mark B. Shaw Co.

Funeral services for Samuel J. Foster were held at 3:30 p.m. yesterday from Mark B. Shaw Memorial Chapel. Dan Dirksen, accompanied by Miss Anita Gamber, sang "Someday He'll Make It Plain" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye." Pallbearers were Sam Ford, A. B. Moore, Parker Smith, C. L. Wheelock and H. H. LaFever. Burial was in Park cemetery, Rialto.

Samuel died in San Bernardino, California. His body is buried at, Rialto Park Cemetery. No marker found at this cemetery. It was confirmed with this cemetery that he is buried here. Per his daughter, Prilla's journal, he died on Jan 30 1937 and was buried Jan 31 1937 in California. But, the Tombstone was placed at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Rockdale, Milam, Texas with his wife, Lorinda. This stone has death year as 1936. This is not correct, it should be 1937. Death cert. has not been found yet.

Samuel and Lorinda were married Jun 17 1879 in Milam, Texas.

They had seven known children:

Prilla Clementine, b.1884-d.1958
Milton "Mitt" Henry, b.1886-d.1957
Julian Samuel, b.1888-d.?
