Lonnie was a son of Andrew J. Cornelius and Lougania Elizabeth Bynum. He married Minnie Emma Baker Cornelius, the widow of Remus Cornelius, October 20, 1902 in Brown County. Lonnie and Remus were 1st cousins.

The children of Lonnie and Minnie were: Effie Estelle, George Dolph, Alma Juanita, Elton Tom and Henry Lee Dell.

L.A. Cornelius. Friends here have learned of the death of L.A. Cornelius, 60, farmer, of Blanket, who died at the home of brother-in-law Will Baker at Ballinger last Thursday evening after a short illness. He is well known here and many friends join the family in sorrow and bereavement.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Zephyr Saturday afternoon and interment was made in Zephyr cemetery. Rev. George McGuire of Rising Star, assisted by Rev. I.T. Culvahouse of Pioneer and Rev. Powell Sojourner of DeLeon, officiated.

L.A. Cornelius was born February 12, 1871 in Titus County, but had been a citizen of Brown County for many years. He and Mrs. Cornelius were married October 19, 1902. He was a member of the Apostolic Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife and 5 children, Mrs. Estelle Martin of Cross Plains, G.D. Cornelius of Breckenridge, Alma, Elton and Lee Dell of Blanket, a stepson C.U. Cornelius of Breckenridge, and one brother S.R. Cornelius of Stamford. Other relatives and friends attended the services from many surrounding towns. Pall Beares: J.W. Damron, G.G. Dabney, H.L. Moore, L.L. Lanford, L.F, Byrd and W.G. Curry.

Lonnie Cornelius of this community died very suddenly Thursday afternoon while at Ballinger where he had gone with his son to pick cotton. The body was brought back here Friday and funeral services were held Saturday afternoon and burial was made in the Zephyr cemetery. Mr. Cornelius leaves a wife, a daughter and three sons of this community, and a daughter Mrs. Joe Martin at Cross Plains to mourn his going. The friends of this community extend sympathy to the bereaved ones in this sad hour.
