Johnnie Marjorie Gamble (Hopkins), 99, went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 12, 2023. She was born August 20,1923 to Johnnie W. and Vivian F. Hopkins (Daniel) in Emhouse. Margie was one of eight children. She attended Emhouse high school, and graduated valedictorian of her class. She married the love of her life, B.W. Gamble, Jr. on November 10, 1948, and they resided in Emhouse. She and B.W. enjoyed bowling and traveling the United States. She refused to travel by airplane, but she and B.W. managed to visit all but four states. She was employed in the banking industry in Corsicana for many years until her retirement. Margie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents and siblings.

She was a kind and loving person, devoted to her family, friends and her church. She will be greatly missed.


To honor Margie's life, a visitation will be Saturday, February 18 from 1-2pm at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 o'clock in the afternoon in the Magnolia Chapel at Corley Funeral Home with Rev. Otis Conner officiating. Burial will be at Pattison Cemetery in Emhouse.
