Memorial services for Mildred V. "Bobbie" Siler Thompson, 94, Emerald Bay, are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Monday at Emerald Bay Community Church with Dr. Malcolm Bane officiating. Private graveside services will be in Cathedral in the Pines under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler. Mrs. Thompson died April 18, 2008, in Tyler. She was born in Newtonia, Mo., to the late Rev. Charles F. Siler and Vallia O. Freeman, and grew up in Missouri and Oklahoma. She lived at Emerald Bay in Bullard since 1982, was a homemaker and a Baptist. While living in Houston she was a member of Garden Oaks Baptist Church, and was active in missions. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, J. Scott Thompson in October 2004. Survivors include her daughter, Janet Darl Thompson Hoffman, Bernice, La.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and following services Monday at the church. If desired, memorials may be made to Joy Fund of Woman's Missionary Union, P.O. Box 11346, Birmingham, Ala. 35282.
