Pauline "Polly" Amos Musser, 81, of the Mt. Pleasant community of Roanoke County, died Friday evening, April 25, 2008, in the University Of Virginia Hospital. Pauline was a lifelong native of the Mt. Pleasant community, was retired from Mt. Pleasant Elementary School, where she loved teaching children who "learned differently". She was very devoted to her family and loved them very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Lucy Amos; her brother, Richard Amos; her husband, Cecil Monroe Musser; and her son, Cecil Monroe (Sonny) Musser II. Surviving is her daughter, Kaye Musser Garland; her granddaughter, Tara; her grandson, Justin and wife, Meghan; her daughter-in-law, Teresa Perdue Musser; her sisters-in-law, Peggy Woods, Judy (Bobby) Martin; her brother-in-law, Edsel Musser; nieces, Nancy (Marvin) Joyner, Vicki (Carl) Carter, Linda (Arthur) Newcomb; nephew, Michael (Laura) Amos; special cousin, Dot Parsons; special friend and neighbor, Nadine Archer. A funeral service will be held at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, Monday, April 28, 2008, at noon with Pastor Eric Spano officiating. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Roanoke County. Special thanks to Dorita and Dianne for all their help and loving care during Pauline's illness. The family will receive Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 540-982-2221.
