Nancy A Ousley was born on March the twelfth, eighteen hundred thirty nine, in Harrisonville, Mo. She departed this life on June the first, nineteen hundred twenty five, being eighty six years, two months and nineteen days of age
She was united in the Holy bonds of matrimony to Samuel L. Hunt on May the third, eighteen fifty five. To this union were given twelve children, five of whom lived to be grown, the others preceded her in infancy and childhood to the home beyond the veil.
Three of the children died in later years, Leonard in eighteen ninety-eight, Anna Josephine in nineteen five, and Thomas Jesse Lee on May twenty-seventh, nineteen eighteen. Her husband preceded her in eighteen eighty-nine.
She found Jesus precious as her Savior at the age of fourteen at which time she united with the Baptist Church and continued a member of the same through life.
She leaves to mourn her loss, two sons, Richard J Hunt, of Deerfield, Kansas. Samuel M. of Parco, Wyo. Twenty-three grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, together with a host of friends.
Truly we can say “She hath done what she could” here, and now she has gone to be a light in the world above.
It was indeed a comfort to those left behind, to hear her say as she died “I am ready to go”.
The funeral services were conducted in Deerfield M.E. Church by the pastor, Rev. Robert L. Foster, on the afternoon of June the third and the body lain away in the Deerfield Cemetery to await the call of Him whose voice will awaken those who sleep in Him.
