Mark Pelton retired from Pere Marquette Railroad in 1949 after 46 years service as a track section foreman. He worked out of Bellaire,Thompsonville, and Elk Rapids in the State of Michigan. The Pelton home in Elk Rapids has been beautifully restored, remodeled and modernized by the current owners, who rescued the Pelton/Williams Bible from the trash heap and gave it to a granddaughter in 1996.
