The daughter of Alexander Monroe and Nancy (Elder) Bryant, she married Ulysses S. Cravens on January 6, 1907 in Adair County. The marriage record has her name as Louetrus and his as Ulysus.

The stone is barely legible. The first name is probably Lou. The second and third lines indicate "wife of US Cravens." The date of death is taken from her death certificate, which has her name as Louetta Cravens. Another variation is Louetress.

She was my grandfather's sister.

Memorial from the April 4, 1917 Adair County News published at Columbia, Kentucky:

On Wednesday morning March 21, the death angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ulysses Cravens, and claimed for its victim the beloved wife. Her death was a shock to the community, as she had been in good health until a few days before her death. She was born March 15, 1884, died March 21, 1917, being 33 years and 6 days old. She was married to Ulysses Cravens January 12, 1907. Was born to this union one child, Dorothy. Aunt Lovetress was a kind wife, a loving mother. She was loved by all who knew her. She was a Christian in the truest sense, being a member of the Baptist church for several years, living in faith until death. On the day of her death she called her friends and loved ones to her bedside and after assuring them of her willingness to and readiness to go she said: “I am going home today” and toward the break of day she fell asleep in that peace which the world can not take or give away. Now the precious companion and darling mother is trying the realities of an unknown world. She has passed over the road from whence no traveler has ever returned and has gone the way that the living has not learned. Although she is quietly resting beneath the cold, cold sod, we rejoice in knowing that her spirit has gone to join the celestial family of God. She is survived by her husband, one child, five brothers, six sisters and many relatives and friends who deeply feel the loss of one so dear.
Brother Nathan Murrell conducted the funeral services in the presence of a host of friends and relatives, after which the remains were laid to rest in the family graveyard near Oak Grove church to await the resurrection morn.
