Mary Carol Greene Colvard Lewis, 83, Granite Falls, former resident of Peoria Community of Bethel in Watauga County, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022.
She was born October 14, 1938 in Watauga County to the late Wade Leroy Greene and Sarah Adelaid McGuire Greene.
She was also preceded by her first husband, Jack Denver Colvard; son, Denver Carroll Colvard; daughter, Deborah Gail Colvard Huffman; sister, Dora Lee Greene Glenn;
She retired after twenty plus years of working in the rough end department of Century Furniture. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Timbered Ridge Baptist Church in Vilas, NC.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are her son, Darrell Colvard; daughters, Donna Riley, Dawn Hatley and Diane Whisnant; grandchildren, Sabra Huffman, Misty Sumner, Kenneth Reid, Ambert Tolbert, Matthew Riley, Christopher Riley, Tara Pennell, Dylan Whisnant and Emily Whisnant Beard; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Jerry Whisnant.
Interment to follow at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery.
