Jacob Allbright, considered the founder of Alabama Crossing, arrived in Texas along with his wife, first 4 children, his father, and several of his siblings in January 1836. He received a First Class Headright from the Republic of Texas, certificate number 86.

He died in the 1860's, and is said to be buried in this cemetery, which was in site of his homeplace.
