Percy grew up in Poynette, Wisconsin, and came West by wagon train with the Solomon Richardson family. The trip must have been quite an adventure for the family.
The 1888 census indicates that they were in Poynette at the time of the census. After arriving in Idaho, settling first in Murray and then in Burke, Percy contracted pneumonia and died in January 1890.
A story was told that the walls of the cabin they stayed in were thin and while wrestling, the boys (with brothers Frank and Fred) broke through the wall into the surrounding snow bank. It could have been related to his death. Percy was 21.
