Mary Sue Frisbee Auldredge, 88, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 10, 2024.


Born in Madison County, NC on November 22, 1935, she was the daughter of the late James Frisbee and Paulin Robert Frisbee.


Mary was a member of First Baptist Church in Glen Alpine where she formerly taught Sunday school. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a compassionate person who cared deeply about others and went out of her way to help people. Mary enjoyed taking great care of her home and yard, but she most enjoyed spending time with her family.


Mary is survived by her sons, Alvin "Rick" Auldredge, Tracy Auldredge (Melanee), and David Burgess who was like a son; grandchildren, Jeremy Auldredge (Ashley), Kelby Auldredge (Ginny), Alexandra Bernier, Michael Auldredge, Sarah Auldredge, and Emily Auldredge; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Lunsford; sister-ni-law, Vivian Scott (Charles); and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.


In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Max Bailey Auldredge; three daughters, Linda Hunt, Robin Burgess, and Maxine Davis; and sister, Dorothy Tweed.


The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, February 16, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. John Terry officiating. Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
