Ulis Edward Barks, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Barks, died in St. Louis, June 20, 1918, aged 13 years, 9 months and 6 days. He leaves a father, mother, four brothers, three sisters and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his departure. He told his father he would like to be at home with his mother, brothers and sisters, but he trusted in the Lord and he would meet them some day. He was sick only six days but his sufferings were great which he bore without complaint. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. P. M. Robins, after which the body was laid to rest in the Cook Cemetery. Ulis was willing to go to St. Louis for the operation, but realized that he could not get well and said "Papa, I would like to see Wendel and Basel." It is so hard to give him up or to realize that he is gone never to return.~Sister, Beulah Barks
