Shirley M. Karl, 81, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at her home with family by her side. She was born on March 17, 1942, to the late Roland and Veronica (Endries) Bushman in Stockbridge, Wisconsin.

Shirley was united in marriage to John D. Karl on July 27, 1963, at St. Mary's Church in Stockbridge, WI. She attended school in Stockbridge. Shirley held various jobs throughout her life, including roles at Tecumseh, G&L, and Hospice Home of Hope. Additionally, she and her husband cared for foster children for eight years. Shirley was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Holy Family Parish.

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Shirley cherished time spent traveling with her family and playing cards.

Shirley is survived by her three children [names withheld], five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a brother, a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband John; her parents; sister Ann Olson; brothers Ronald and John Bushman; in-laws Ludwig and Mabel Karl; brothers-in-law Roger Drew, Bruce Berlowski, Dick Breister, James (Jalaine) Karl, and Richard Karl; and sister-in-law Mary Karl.

Services: Shirley's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 8:30 to 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 4th Street Way in Fond du Lac. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM following the visitation. Cremation has taken place.
