The Logan County native was a retired carpenter, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Edgar Scarbrough and Erma Purdue Scarbrough. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marion Scarbrough; and two sisters, Pearl Dorrance and Dorothy Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Justice Scarbrough; a sister, Agnes Scott and her husband, Cliff, of Portland, Tenn.; a brother, Paul Scarbrough and his wife, Linda, of Bowling Green; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Auburn Cemetery.
