Harold Clinton Adams was born Oct 7, 1913, on a farm four miles northwest of Bronson, and met his tragic and untimely death through drowning in the Neosho River near Iola at one o'clock in the afternoon of May 17, 1931. He was seventeen years, seven months and ten days old.
The funeral was held at the home of his parents, west of Iola, May 19, Rev N.L. Vezie conducting the services and the Salem quartette furnishing the music. Interment was in the Gas City Cemetery.
Harold was educated in the Pleasant Valley grade school and the Colony High School but had been working with his father on the farm west of Iola for some time previous to the tragic accident that caused his death. He always been a quiet child, preferring to spend most of his time at home and seldom going anywhere except with his parents. He was a loving and dutiful son, a cheerful and willing worker about the farm, a friendly and likeable boy. It will be a long time before his place can be filled in the hearts and lives of those who knew and loved him.
He leaves to mourn his loss his parents, Mr and Mrs W.C. Adams, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Culler of Colony, and Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Willits of Bronson, the following aunts, uncles, and cousins; Mr. and Mrs. M.W. Hellar and son Jack of Independence, Kan, Mr. and Mrs. D.S.
