John Brown of Hillsdale, died at the Vermillion County Hospital in Clinton following an extended illness. He was a retired miner and had spent his lifetime in Vermillion and Parke Counties. He was the son of Joseph H. and Delia Coffman Brown. Following the death of his wife Almetta Foos Brown in 1942, he had made his home with his daughter Mrs. Ollie Ponton of Hillsdale. He had served 3 years as a member of the Town Board of Montezuma. Surviving in addition to his daughter Mrs. Ponton, are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Blanche Ronk of Indianapolis, and 3 sons, Bert Brown of Clinton, and Fred Brown and Harry Brown of Hillsdale.
