NAME SPELLED BIGGS AT ELLIS ISLAND

NAGY IN HUGARIAN WAS SPELLING FOR BIG.

Julia was but 2 MONTHS old when her
Mom Theresa
& her Aunt Susanna Nogradi came
over from Budapest Hungry on
a Ship ULTOINA
. There was another child
Theresa age 2 .
She became sick on ship & they
were quarantened at Ellis Island NY.
Young Theresa died sometime after
they were in US.
Later Julia's parents settled
in Pa then Illinois. Her Dad was a
coalminer.
*******************************************
Julia graduated 8th Grade at
Rose Lake School 25 May 1922
Fairmont City Illinois.
*******************************************
Julia had been married & divorced from a very
abusive man. She worked at Switzer Candy Factory
in St. Louis, Mo. after her divorce for a while.

Then she heard of a job as a Nanny & Caregiver
to a "Baby whose Mother "Ruth," had died in
Childbirth so Julia came as a Nanny
for the baby & a Caregiver for the baby's
grandmother, who was quite old, & lived with
Riley & his baby dau.

Surely Ruth had to "Look down from Heaven,"
and see what a Blessing Julia was. As any
Mother would want the very best for her child!

Julia was "A Gift from God," for the baby & her
Dad, as Julia took such good care of the baby
who was a premie & not expected to live.

Note: Julia had no children of her own
so this was a Major Undertaking for her.

Riley saw what a "Christian Lady," Julia was
and they married when the baby was 5 months old.
Riley & Julia had a long & happy life
together. Sherry loved her 2nd Mom with all
her heart!
