Brian "King" Lee Brooks, Sr., the son of the late David Leroy and Celestine Deloris Brooks, was born August 11, 1983, in Sumter. On Saturday, August 7, 2021, Brian slipped away peacefully into eternal rest in McLeod Regional Hospital, Florence. He attended the public schools of Sumter County. Brian worked in many capacities, his jobs included, V. B. Williams, Peace Textile, Meritor INC., Color FII, and he later launch his own business, Majestic Hands. Brian could do anything from mechanic work to running cables, and if he couldn't do it, he would learn while doing the job. He was a very talented young man who enjoyed helping his family members in every capacity, and he touched the lives of everyone he met. Brian's loving memories will be cherished by: his two sons, Brian Brooks Jr., and Avery Brooks; two daughters, Lyera Brooks, and Briana Brooks; three stepdaughters, Malaysia Spears, Kavareona Tindal, and Marlyshia Oaks; two stepsons, Marcellus Oaks III and Martarius Oaks, all of Sumter; his fiancé, Tiffany Abrams of Sumter; twin brother, Brent L. (Pamela-Kellogg) Brooks; three sisters, Tammie T. Brooks of Sumter, Shikina T. Brooks of Wedgefield, and Nina (Edward) Anderson of Greenville; a special friend, Carlos Abrams; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In accordance with the COVID -19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 71C Somerset Drive, Sumter. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a. m., Friday, August 13, 2021 at Wayman Chapel A. M. E. Church Cemetery, 160 North Kings Highway, Sumter, with the Rev. Robert China, pastor, officiating. The procession will leave at 10:20 a. m. from the home.
