A Missouri native, he served in the Coast Guard.
He lived in Albany since 1935 and was a millwright/plywood worker for M&M Plywood, and then Griggs Plywood in Lebanon, Or. He retired in 1975.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
His wife, Edna, died in 1989.
Survivors include his sons, Marvin of Albany and Earl of Coos Bay: daughter, Bev Scott of Eugene: 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Interment at Willamette Memorial Park Mausoleum, Albany, Or.
