Denver Robert Jones, 95, of 1819 Herman Simmons Road, Doerun, died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at his daughter's residence.


Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church with interment at the church cemetery.


Mr. Jones was born Sept. 22, 1906, in Pickens County to the late Tom Buster Jones and the late Belle Stone Jones.


He was a retired farmer and Colquitt County school bus driver. He was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Doerun, where he served as a deacon.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary McEver Jones, and a daughter, Mary Jo Shaddix.


Survivors include a son, Robert T. "Bobby" Jones and wife Margaret of Doerun; two daughters, Marjorie Powell and husband Iverson of Doerun and Faye Worrell and husband Bill of Leesburg; three brothers, Derwin Jones of Moultrie, Fred Jones of Atlanta and Sanford Jones of Leesburg; three sisters, Doris Jackson of Louisville, Frances Day of Albany and Elizabeth Hall of Ellijay; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
