Henry Clay Norris was born on March 28, 1924 in Eldorado, Arkansas to Thomas Houston Norris and Mary Lily Horton Methvin Norris.

After graduating from high school in 1942, Henry joined the Navy and was stationed in Guam until the end of WWII. After his stint in the Navy, Henry graduated in business from Louisiana Tech University in 1950 and worked for Commercial Union Life Insurance Company for over 35 years in Monroe and Ruston, Louisiana, before retiring.

On May 28, 1955 Henry married Jeannette Meche Norris. Henry and Janette had eight children,  Thomas Houston Norris; Mary Olivia Norris; Henry Clay Norris II; Patrick Tilden (Cathy) Norris; Teresa Norris Meche; Rebecca Jeannette Norris (Scott) Miller; Sarah Marie Norris (Jason) Harville and Miriam Eve Monk Norris (Brad) Schrock and six grandchildren, Dylan and Dustin Monk; Olivia and Patricia Miller; Jack and Tilden Harville. Sadly, Janette passed away on November 27, 1990.

On May 1, 1992, Henry married Margaret Richard Bordelon and acquired four step children; step-sons Dale, Larry, Gary Bordelon and families, as well as a step-daughter, Denise Bordelon Wood and her husband Stephen and their family.

Henry and Margaret moved from Monroe, Louisiana to the White Mountains in Pinetop, Arizona. It wasn't long before Henry took up downhill skiing in his early 70s and his first downhill run was on December 20, 1994. He enjoyed golf, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling and playing cards and board games with Margaret and friends. On September 17, 2008 Henry went on his first outing as an auxiliary sheriff. Henry hung up his skis in the early part of 2013 and he and Margaret moved to Van Alstyne, TX to be close to family. Henry worked harder after retirement than he did before he retired. On August 12, 2019 Henry lost his second wife, Margaret.

The most important thing in Henry's life was his precious faith. He was a daily Mass attendee unless extreme circumstances prevented him from being in the presence of Our Lord. After Margaret's death, Henry decided to live in Dallas at St. Joseph Residence run by the Sisters of the Bethlemite Order. He was a great spiritual influence on many of the residents there and was blessed to live in a loving home that had a Chapel. Henry spent much of his day there in prayer.

On January 22, 2024, surrounded by the Bethlemite sisters, the Good Lord called Henry to Himself. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
