Bobby Dean Amos, 84, lifelong area resident passed away Monday, January 29, 2024 at his home in Stigler. He was born at Rose Hill on July 13, 1939 to William Oscar and Flossie (Shirley) Amos. He grew up at Rose Hill and attended Lequire School. He was married to Linda McCaslin on August 17, 1960 and made their home together. He worked as a plumber for many years before beginning a career at Kinta Public Schools for some 20 years. He later worked for the Stigler Housing Authority until his retirement. Bob was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed crafting most anything. He loved the outdoors, fishing, deer hunting and coon hunting were his favorite. He later began collecting Miniature trains and cars.
He is survived by his wife Linda of the home; two sons, Robert Amos of Stigler, Greg Amos and wife Lillie of Blocker; three daughters, Debbie Benavidez and husband George of Stigler, Kelly Hokit and husband Trent of Porum, Sherry Amos of Stigler; 13 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; as well as two on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Flossie Amos; two brothers, W.O. Amos and an infant brother; one sister, Mercedes King.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel with Reverend C.B. Coplen officiating. Pallbearers will be Lance Amos, Dee Hulsey, Dylan Jones, Hunter Amos, Robert Amos Jr., Ryan Clark. Burial will follow at Garland Cemetery under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
