A celebration of Brad's Life will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the America Cancer Society or John Knox Hospice.
Brad was born June 24, 1952 in Kansas City, MO the son of Samuel A., Jr, and Dorothy (Sheets) Hewitt. He was employed with Merritt Food Company for 23 years and later Vance Brothers for the last 8 years. Brad enjoyed collecting baseball cards, NASCAR and spending time at the lake fishing and being with family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Hewitt; one sister; and two brothers.
Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years; one daughter and son and law; two sons, and four grandchildren. He also leaves behind two sisters and two brothers. His father, Samuel Hewitt, Jr. passed away on October 28, 2011.
He attended McCoy grade school in Kansas City, Mo.
