Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, godfather, uncle, cousin, and friend born on February 20th, 1945 went to be with our heavenly Lord on October 27th, 2023.

David is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Lucy Ann; beautiful daughters Monica Ann, Angela Marie, and Regina Elena; wonderful grandchildren Alana Maricela, Elijah David, and Alejandro (Alex) David; brothers Alejandro (Barbara), Stevie (Dorothy), Joseph Valdez (Brenda, deceased); sisters Patricia Palafox (Manuel, deceased), Lydia Valdez (Bill, deceased), Elizabeth Espinoza (Jesus, deceased), Cecelia Hernandez (Alex, deceased), Marie (Jim) Haynes; brothers and sisters in-law, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and godchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents Alejandro and Celia Valdez, brothers Samuel, Gabriel, and recently Michael Valdez.

David was a native Tucsonan who graduated from Tucson High School, served in the United States Navy for four (4) years and is a Vietnam Veteran. He was a successful heavy equipment Sales/Accounts Manager for Empire Caterpillar Machinery Company of 32 years, president of Dale Carnegie, and Toastmasters extraordinaire.

David lived a life as a devoted, faithful, and loving family man who had a witty sense of humor; he moved mountains to provide for his wonderful wife, daughters, and grandchildren.

David was always willing to lend a helping hand to his extended family, friends, and his community. He leaves a deep void to those he left behind, but he will forever be in our hearts. The family is grateful to Bayada Nurses, Casa De La Luz Hospice, family, friends, and many doctors.

Services will be held on Monday, November 13th, 2023 at Saints Peter and Paul Parish, 1964 E Lee Street. Viewing will be from 9:00am-9:30am, rosary recited from 9:30am-10:00am. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am.

Burial with military honors will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N. Oracle Road. Arrangements made by Funeraria del Angel South Lawn.
