Marilyn Dianne Martin Anthony
January 27, 2024
Dianne Anthony was born on July 19, 1949, in Winston County where she lived the majority of her life. She died at her home in Laurel, MS, surrounded by her loving family on January 27, 2024, after a short battle with colon cancer.
Dianne worked at Spartus Corporation and TRW in Louisville and as a bailiff for the Winston County Courthouse many years ago, and she was also co-owner with her husband of Anthony's IGA and Wood's Grocery. However, her most important job was taking care of her special daughter. She dedicated her life to her daughter and the two of them were inseparable. Her favorite time of the year was summer, and she enjoyed working in the yard and taking care of her flower beds, gardening, swimming, and going to the lake with family. Dianne loved football, and her favorite teams were the Louisville Wildcats and the Ole Miss Rebels. She never wanted to miss a Friday night football game.
Left to continue her legacy are her four daughters. She also leaves behind her six grandchildren and one great-grandson who all loved her as their Nana. In addition, she leaves behind her two sisters.
Dianne was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Thaniel Anthony, her parents, Jesse Martin and Janie Holdiness Clark, and her sister, Marion Collins.
Dianne's final wishes were to be cremated without any kind of formal service. Her family plans to celebrate life party at a later date. Memorials in Dianne's memory may be made to Plainway Baptist Church in Laurel, MS, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
