Funeral services for Nels Leon Nelson, 74, of South Gate, were conducted Thursday by Rose Hills Mortuary in Hillside Church with Rev. Sherwood Eddy officiating. Internment followed in Rose Hills Memorial Park.
Mr. Nelson, a resident of this area for 21 years and former employee with Union Pacific Railroad, was born in Wisconsin. He died March 6 in a local hospital.
He is survived by his widow, Hazel; three sons, Myron, Nels Laurence and Conroy Nelson; four brothers, Theodore, Maurice, Edward and Roy Nelson; four sisters Lillian Martenson, Sigrid Holmberg, Ruth Nelson and Hildur Sandy; and seven grandchildren.
