Sharon was born April 10, 1939, in Ringgold, Louisiana and passed away peacefully in the presence of family in Minden, Louisiana on January 18, 2024. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Seward and Helen Thomas, son Jody Edwards and first husband Johnny Glen Edwards.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Ben Schonfarber, daughters Nancy Collins (Tim) of Heflin and Janet (Stacy) Jones of Texas, son Ben Schonfarber, Jr. of Jamestown, daughter-in-law Denise Edwards of Minden, sister Nancy Youngblood of Minden, sister-in-law Clarice Madden of Minden, sister-in-law Cathy Edwards of Ringgold, brother-in-law TK Schonfarber of North Carolina, nine grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren.
Sharon enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed the country and also camping by the lake with friends. She was a member of Lakeview Methodist Church and could always be seen singing in the choir. During her career, she worked as a secretary at Highland Homes of Minden in the 70's and retired from Gibsland Bank & Trust and Regions Bank. She and her husband, Ben enjoyed traveling through different states visiting friends and relatives.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeview Methodist Church or a charity of your choice in her memory.
