Bob was the eldest of seven children, Eileen, Joan, Richard, Rebecca, John, and David. Bob attended Downey schools and graduated from Downey High School and California State University, Fullerton. He lived in Downey and several other southern California cities before moving to Colorado several years ago. Bob was a Viet Nam Veteran having served in the United States Army. He worked hard all his life as a marketing specialist and independent contractor. Bob was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints.
Bob was a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Jerry Thompson and five daughters; Tiffany Pickel, Sara Menor, Jill Patterson, Jennifer Reichelt, Amy Gonzalez , two step-daughters, Crystle Southam, Kacina O'Donley, twelve grandchildren; Anthony Gonzales, Lily Gonzalez, Sean Pickel, Blue Gonzalez, Wesley Patterson, Dean Reichelt, Dylan Reichelt, Cire O'Donley, Jonathan, Nathan, Megan & Katelyn Southam, and five great grandchildren; Ava Gonzalez, Amiia Gonzales, Millie Gonzales, Sebastian and Keara O'Donley.
Bob was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Thompson, brother David and sister, Rebecca Romano. He was buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. There will be a Celebration of Robert's Life on Friday, January 26th at 11 am at First Christian Church, Huntington Beach Chapel at 1207 Main Street, Huntington Beach.
