Eleuteria Abara- Ramiro also known to family members and friends as
Terry, passed away peacefully at her home on January 4,2023.
Eleuteria was 95 years old. She was born in the Philippines on February 20,
1927 to the late Lupo Azurin and Bernardina Azurin.
Eleuteria graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from University of
the Philippines in Manila. She worked as a registered nurse at Philippine
General Hospital.
Eleuteria migrated to multiple foreign countries to practice her nursing
profession. She worked as a registered nurse in Canada and Texas, U.S.A.
When in Texas, she met the late Aurea Aldon who was also a registered
nurse and became her best friend.
When Eleuteria and Aurea were vacationing in California, she was in-
troduced to the late Bonifacio Abara. They fell in love and were engaged.
They got married in 1968 and were together for 5 years. Bonifacio passed
at an early age. They didn't have children.
Eleuteria remarried in September 2004 with the late Rogelio Ramiro.
Eleuteria worked for 19 years with the City and County of San Francis-
co, Laguna Honda Hospital from 1973-1992. She retired as a head nurse/
nurse manager.
Eleuteria is survived by her nephews and nieces.
Eleuteria spent most of her time gardening, cooking watching her favorite
sports football and baseball. An avid fan of the 49ers and Giants, watching
soap opera such as "The Young and the Restless", game shows " The Price is
Right", " Wheel of Fortune", and "Jeopardy". She also loved going to casinos
with friends and relatives.
Our aunt's presence will be dearly missed but we will hold her close to our
hearts always.
May she rest in peace.
