Shirley Cox Sanders, better known as Charles, was born September 27, 1931 to the late Harland David Sanders (KFC) and Gerlina Sanders of Louisville, Kentucky. He went home to be with OUR LORD on December 7, 2023 and joined his parents; four children Lorraine Sanders, Vickie Green, Ricki Sanders, Derrick Sanders and brother Baley Sanders.

Charles favorite scripture was the 23 Psalm. He was a member of Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir and listening to his wife Pamela read the Bible to him. Charles always looked forward to doing Daily Devotions and Biblical Quizzes. He was an avid sports fan and loved to watch the Bengals, Reds and The Ohio State.

Charles also enjoyed listening to Jimmy Swaggart and Patty LaBelle, Somewhere Over the Rainbow. He retired from Renault of Dayton and Avalon Apartment Complexes. Charles loved Jazz and Gospel Music. Charles was a proud veteran and served in the United States Air Force from 1953-1957 and National Reserves.

He leaves to cherish his memories with his wife Pamela of Mason, Ohio; children Micheline "Michele" (Anthony) James of Centerville, Ohio, Shirley (Donnie) Hines of Dayton, Ohio, Charles Sanders Jr, of Dayton, Ohio, Douglas (Michelle) Sanders of Allen, Texas, Dyatra Mitchell of Mason, Ohio, Charles (Pammery "Pam") Bursey of Lithopolis, Ohio with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 19th at 1:00pm sharp at Dayton National Cemetery.
