His first wife, Sarah Fielding (née Gould), died in 1718 and was buried on the 18th April in the original mediaeval East Stour parish church (or yard) in Dorset. The original church was demolished in 1839 and replaced in 1841/2 with Christ Church, East Stour. A copy of her burial record is attached to this page. She was the mother of novelist, Henry Fielding (1707-1754) and author, Sarah Fielding (1710-1768).
Anne Fielding, another daughter of Edmund and Sarah Fielding, died in 1716. She was also buried in the original East Stour parish church (or yard) on the 6th August. Her burial is recorded on the same page as her mother's.
