Julia Ervena Phelps Holt, 96, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, covered in prayers by all her family and friends. She was born on March 16, 1927, to the late Mabel and Willie Phelps in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Julia was a graduate of Ahrens High School in Louisville, Kentucky. She stayed in Louisville after marrying the love of her life, Henry Holt, and they were blessed with four children. Julia was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She deeply cherished the time she shared with her grandchildren. Julia worked as a dedicated crossing guard for many years, showing countless children the same love and care she gave her family. She also spent many great hours with her bowling league, and attending Derby Dinner Musicals with friends. In her spare time, Julia enjoyed playing many card games, working cross word puzzles, crocheting, and relaxing with her favorite dog, Diablo. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Willie and Mabel Phelps, Julia is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50+ years, William H. Holt;2 children, Bill Holt, and Patricia Holt Green; 2 brothers, Larry and Tom Phelps; and her sister-in-law, Jan Phelps.

Left to cherish her memory, Julia is survived by 2 sons, Paul Holt (Marina), and Robert Holt; 2 grandchildren, Arianne Austin (Jason), and Matthew Holt; 3 great-grandchildren, Emerson, Anderson, and Julie-Anne; and a host of extended family and close friends.

A funeral service for Mrs. Julia Holt will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery will take place following the funeral service.
