Clyde William Marshall, 85, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, while a resident at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA. Clyde was born on February 27, 1938, to the late Daryl Wilver and Florence Elizabeth (Waite) Marshall in Reynoldsville. He graduated from high school and proudly served his country with the United States Army. After serving, Clyde worked for McDowell Manufacturing until his retirement in 2000. Clyde married the love of his life, Velma Gene Garthwaite on July 11, 1964, in DuBois, PA; Velma preceded him in passing on March 17, 2019. Clyde was the Sergent of Arms at the American Legion in Reynoldsville and was a long-time member of the Reynoldsville Sportsman's Club where he was the secretary and treasurer. Clyde had a great sense of humor; he was always ready to make someone laugh with his jokes. He was a lifelong wildlife supporter and hunter's advocate. One of his favorite past times was feeding the birds and deer. He also enjoyed tinkering around in his shop and gardening. Clyde is survived by three children; Tom (Rita) Marshall of Connelly Springs, NC; Lisa (William) Broomall of Reynoldsville, PA; Mark (Carrie) Marshall of Reynoldsville, PA; one brother; Robert K. Marshall; six grandchildren; Jessica Cook; Kattie Shivick; Elizabeth (Chris) Freemer; Mark Jr. (Mandy) Marshall; Craig Marshall; and Maria Notto. Clyde is also survived by five great-grandchildren; Mason Marshall; McKenna Marshall; Maverick Marshall; Jaxon Freemer; and Jameson Shivick. In addition to his parents and wife, Clyde is preceded in passing by three siblings; Doris Marshall; Patricia Mack; and Thomas Marshall. Following Clyde's wishes, all services will be held privately to his family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Snyder – d'Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Legion in Reynoldsville, 305 Broadway St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851, to the Gateway Humane Society, 1211 Airport Rd., Falls Creek, PA 15840, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
