A native of Moreauville and a resident of Baton Rouge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, LSU sports, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Saint Thomas More Catholic Church and was retired from Sid Richardson Carbon Company.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine "Jerrie" Ortego Gauthier; a daughter, Sharon (Tom) Gauthier Mann; sons, Ronald Lewis (Lana) Gauthier Jr and Donnie (Mindy) Gauthier; two siblings, Judy Gauthier Rundell and Havard Gauthier; and six grandchildren, Blake Mann, Mason Mann, Cody Gauthier, Katelyn Gauthier, Brantley James, and Charlie James.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruffin and Lillian Gauthier; and a sister, Beverly Bohrer.
