Sylvia worked 22 years as a supervisor in bookkeeping at Sylvania Savings Bank. During this time, she belonged to Sylvania United Church and was active in their various events and clubs. She was also involved in the Sylvania Rotary Luncheons.
Sylvia and her husband enjoyed many years of bowling in leagues and playing cards with friends. After her husband passed in 1994 with 47 years of marriage, Sylvia developed a love for bird watching in her back yard and had a great compassion for family gatherings, with her family highly respecting her as the cornerstone.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband, Philip H. Benner; son, Richard (Dick) Benner; and son-in-law, Michael Stowe. She is survived by daughters, Linda (Tom) Wagoner and Janie Stowe; and son, Philip Thomas Benner. Sylvia is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
