Born Aug. 31, 1928 in Allentown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Benjeman F. Roth, Sr. and Margaret (Goundie) Roth.
She was a 1946 graduate of Allentown High School and a 1968 graduate of Lock Haven State College where she earned her degree as a teacher.
She taught elementary school in Lock Haven, Pa.
Lois was active in the Cape May Women's Club for over 50 years. She loved to play cards, go deep sea fishing, country line dancing and she loved animals, especially dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, P. Richard Callahan; a son, Richard; and a grandson, Byron.
Lois is survived by her son, Micheal R. Callahan; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024, at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, N.J.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 12-1 p.m.
Interment will be held on the grounds of Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery immediately following the service.
In honor of her love for animals, the family would prefer donations be made to either the Heifer International Organization, www.heifer.org or to the Cape May County Humane Society.
