Sheldon was actively involved with the Knights of Columbus in Osseo, coaching his children in football, baseball, and softball as they grew up. An avid sports fan, he cheered on the Minnesota Twins, Vikings, Timberwolves, and Wild throughout their seasons as well. His encyclopedic knowledge of every sport was the source of many interesting and insightful conversations.
Sheldon will especially be remembered for his kind heart. He was a helpful neighbor and volunteered taking care of the berms, irrigation, and tree trimming for the homeowner's association in his neighborhood in Champlin. He spent many winters in Destin, FL and Mesa, AZ with his wife, Rosalie. In Mesa, he worked on small neighborhood projects with his good friend Bob Yates. In the summers, he fished and camped with friends and family, especially at the cabin on Clearwater Lake. Always willing to lend a hand, he was a loyal friend to all around him.
Sheldon treasured spending time with and supporting his grandchildren, and he made an effort to be at as many of their sporting and arts events as he could. Gregarious, inviting, and friendly, he could be found making conversation with just about anyone on the sidelines or in the audience, even if they had never met. Sheldon's hearty laugh could be heard in any crowd, and he gave others so much joy throughout his life.
Friends, family, and faith were Sheldon's foundation. Family holidays were times of celebration, from Easter egg hunts and Christmas dinners to trick-or-treating and 4th of July campfires. His family will always remember laughing and sharing special moments with him.
