"Clifford J. Belott, 79, passed away peacefully, at home in Clifton Park on August 12, 2008, with his loving family by his side, after a long struggle with COPD. Born Nov. 1, 1928, the son of the late John and Evelyn Belott. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, John C. Belott. Clifford was a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School, Class of 1946. He worked on his family farm and the Springs Dairy for many years before he became a licensed real estate broker. His greatest love was fishing. He had a boat on Lake Ontario for 20 years, and fished all the ponds in the Adirondacks. He loved taking his friends and family out to catch the 'Big One'. He was very involved and supportive of his grandchildren. He attended all their sporting events. He spent his winters for the last ten years at Trailer Estates in Bradenton, FL. He enjoyed shuffleboard, becoming a 'Pro' as well as the many other park activities. Survivors include his loving wife, Faith, of 24 years; his daughter, Christine (Bill) Mac Taggart of Waxhaw, NC; step-father of Candace (Marvin) Steiding of Nokomis, FL, Gary (Teresa) Chapman, Larry (Angela) Chapman and Jeff (Susan) Chapman, all of Gansevoort; grandfather of John (Rae) MacTaggart, Scott MacTaggart, Suzanne MacTaggart all of Waxhaw, NC, Evan Chapman, Andrew Chapman, Zachary Chapman, Kileigh Chapman, Lance Chapman, Devin Chapman, Hayden Chapman, all of Gansevoort, NY and Eric Levinsky of Nokomis, FL. Funeral will be held Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in the from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
