Jack Lee Spears, age 65, of Evansville, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on April 3, 1958 in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Randall Hugh and Margaret Christine (Stearman) Spears.

Jack spent much of his childhood traveling across the country with his parents and siblings. He told countless stories of his memories and experiences to everyone around him. He grew up working on cars with his dad and brothers and carried those skills into his profession as an Auto Repair Technician.

After returning to Evansville, he attended Reitz High School. In 1978 he met the love of his life, Janet and they spent the next 45 years together. Together they had three wonderful children who he was very proud of. Jack loved many things in life, but more than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Jack liked to joke and was very playful. One of his greatest joys in life were his grandchildren. He also enjoyed family gatherings and watching Colts football with his son and brother.

Jack was very respected in his field and received a lot of recognition. He was seen as both a mentor and someone to lean on. Over the years he developed relationships with the people he worked with, no matter how brief. His coworkers were like brothers to him and he came to consider them family.

He liked to be helpful and would drop anything to help those that needed him, from car troubles to personal advice. Jack never met a stranger, and to say he had a huge impact on the lives he touched would be an understatement.

Jack is survived by his wife of 39 years, Janet Arlene (Beyer) Spears; children, Jacquelyn Dawn (Jeff Morris) Spears, Justin Matthew (Sahara) Spears, Jessica Lynn (Dalton) Spears, Angela Marie (Billy) White; grandchildren, Jordan Welte, Jayden White, Alexander Seaton, Aydin Morris, Jakob Seaton, Kenneth Fogelsanger, Andrew Spears, Westin Spears; siblings, Jeanne (Michael) Gourley, Michael (Patricia) Spears, Gary Spears; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Family and friends may gather for a visitation on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, from 12:00 until service time. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the funeral home officiated by Pastor John Kellough followed by burial in Locust Hill Cemetery.
