Edwina Loftin Obituary
Edwina Arnold Loftin was born to the late Eddie Arnold Sr. and Christine Patton Arnold on June 1, 1948 in Mobile, Alabama. Mrs. Loftin departed this life and entered into eternal rest on January 4, 2024.
Edwina was preceded in death by her parents Eddie and Christine Arnold; brothers: Lewis G and Eddie Arnold Jr; sister, Catherine Dailey; granddaughter, Jennifer Arnold; godparents: Annie and Theodore Harris; mother and father-in-law Burrell, and Connie Loftin.
Upon graduating from Central High School in 1966, Edwina continued her education at South West as a nursing student. She then pursued her career in New Jersey where she resided for fourteen years. In 1982, she returned to Mobile to be with the love of her life. She rejoined Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church No. 1, where she was a faithful member. Edwina lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed taking trips to the casino.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband, Leon G. Loftin Sr.; two sons: Leon Loftin, Jr. and Thomatra Loftin; nine grandchildren: Sharlay, Onjel, Keio, Bryne, Tee, Jay, William, Chance, and Trey; seventeen great grandchildren; five sisters: Mary Griffith, Sandra Stevenson, Regina (Wilbert) Deshields, Katrina Arnold and Yolander Arnold; one brother: John Arnold; sisters-in-law: Mary Spates and Johnnie Mae Ezell; brother-in-law: PT (Sarah) Loftin; one devoted niece, Vanity Vaughn and a host of other nieces and nephews; goddaughter, Ingram Harris; and two close friends: Gladys East and Ceola Paige.
