Please keep us in your prayers as our father passed away.
David Duane Anderjaska, age 69, of Buffalo, Missouri, formally of McCook, Nebraska, entered into rest on Monday, January 9, 2024, at Colonial Springs Healthcare Facility in Buffalo, Missouri. David was born on September 11, 1954, in McCook, Nebraska to Gerald and Joyce (McLeland) Anderjaska.
David has always been a cowboy, farmer, and hunter. He grew up on a ranch and farm near Hayes Center, Nebraska. There they ran cow calf pairs and farmed wheat, corn, and soybeans; He showed horses in 4H to pass the time. He attended school in Hays Center and then went to college in Sterling, Colorado. In Sterling, he joined the rodeo team with his horse Miss Kitty in the bull dogging. Shortly after college, David returned home and began working on the farm with his dad. He would farm all summer long, and spend the winter hunting coyotes, pheasants, and deer. He also drove a truck hauling grains from the family farm and for other local area farms.
David had two boys, Heath and Seth. One liked the cowboy life and the other the hunting life. Both boys moved to Missouri where they started their own families and cow calf operations. In 2009, David moved to Missouri to be closer to his boys. He helped where he could, but each year his health was declining. He loved visits from family and friends. David enjoyed playing cards, eating snickers, drinking Mt. Dew, joking, and having fun. He would always ask how everyone was doing and loved to see pictures and videos.
David was preceded by his father. He is survived by his sons, Heath and wife Kim of Fair Grove, Missouri, Seth and wife Lindsay of Willard, Missouri, grandchildren Chad and wife Shelby, Sierra, Saige, Garth and Maive, great granddaughter Austen, his mother Joyce of McCook, Nebraska, sister Doris Davis and husband Rex of North Platte, Nebraska, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am -12:00 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo, Missouri. David will be laid to rest on Saturday, January 20th at the Scared Heart Church Cemetery in Hayes Center, Nebraska.
