Janet Macfarland Morris, 93, of Black Mountain, NC passed away on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde D. Morris Jr., her parents, Robin and Olive Newton Macfarland, sons, Jeffery and Robin, and her siblings, Robert, Betty, Eugene, and Barbara.

She is survived by her children, Bruce, Karen, Kim, and Frances and her bonus daughters, Leslie and Debbie; sisters, Jo Ann Moody and Sandra Halstead; her seven grandchildren, Zack, Becky, Melody, Cody, Max, Greyson, and Faith; and two great-grandchildren, Barrett and Edgar.

She was an early member of the Buncombe County Rescue Squad and was a well-known and respected folk artist. She worked as a professional craftsman, was a life member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, and taught for A-B Technical Community College for 20 years. Jan's art has been featured in many publications and has been displayed on the Christmas trees at the NC Governor's Western Mansion and the White House Christmas tree.

A service is planned for January 20th or 21st at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Rd.
