David was educated in the Lancaster County School System. He was a graduate of Barr Street High School. He was a quarterback for the Barr Street High Golden Tigers.
David was employed at Lancaster County Water and Sewer. He was known to be a dedicated and faithful employee. He retired as a supervisor after thirty-one years of service.
David was united in holy matrimony to the late Ida "Penny" Williams.
David was predeceased by one brother and sister, RL Mobley and Sarah Mobley.
David leaves to cherish fond memories one daughter, Teresa Williams-Truesdale of Lancaster, SC; two sons, Johnny Cauthen (Vermell) of Lancaster, SC and David Lee Mobley, Jr.(Tania) of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Barbara Mobley of Lancaster, SC and Lucille Love of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Bill Mobley and Steve Mobley both of Lancaster, SC; nine grandchildren, Evelyn McIlwain (Marcus), Jizmine Williams, Mya Truesdale, Tiniya Truesdale, Autumn Cauthen, Darius Robinson, Synovia Barnes, Jonesha Cauthen and LaTanya Douglas; fourteen great-grandchildren; aunts and uncles; two Godchildren, Pam Champion and LaQua Champion.
