Lyle D. Dehart, 71, of the Town of Evergreen, passed away on Thursday morning, December 28, 2023, at his home with his family at his side.

Lyle was born in Antigo, on April 9, 1952, to Acie and Iva (Whitt) DeHart. He was raised in the Town of Evergreen and was a 1970 graduate of White Lake High School. For a time, Lyle was employed at the Yawkey-Bissel Flooring Mill. He was united in marriage to Mary Flak on June 14, 1975, at St. James Catholic Church in White Lake. The couple made their home in the Town of Evergreen. Lyle received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from U.W. Steven Point. He furthered his studies and received a Master of Arts, in Education from Viterbo University, LaCrosse.

Lyle devoted his career to Special Education, working with and testing children with learning and behavioral disabilities. He was employed for over thirty years with the Unified School District of Antigo, retiring in 2011.

Besides having a passion for helping children succeed, Lyle also enjoyed music. Self-taught, Lyle was known for his steel guitar playing. He was a member of various bands, including, The Blue Torch Special, The Silhouettes, Gary DeHart's Basement Band and The Lyle & More Band.

Lyle enjoyed the outdoors, and mini-Dachshund dogs, but most of all he loved his family, and took great pride in his grandchildren.

Lyle will be dearly missed by his children, Carrie Elizabeth (William) Freeman of the Town of Evergreen, and Matthew Lyle (Amy) DeHart of the Town of Evergreen, three grandchildren, Ryan Freeman and fiancé, Kade Hoffman of Antigo, Elliott DeHart and Gibson DeHart both of the Town of Evergreen, sibling, James DeHart of White Lake, sisters-in-law, Wendy DeHart of White Lake, Carol DeHart of Bryant, Patricia DeHart of White Lake, and Tammy DeHart of Antigo. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Acie, and Iva DeHart, wife, Mary DeHart on November 12, 2023, and by a sister, Eileen Brown and by five brothers, Orville, Vern, Gary, William, and Troy DeHart.

The visitation for Lyle will take place on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Four Corners Assembly of God, located at N3891 County Rd. P, White Lake, from 10:00 AM until the 12:00 PM Memorial Service, with Pastor Dale Kindle officiating.

Inurnment will take place in the Spring at the Langlade Cemetery.
