Jim was a lifelong resident and farmer in Kissee Mills who poured and finished cement in the area for decades. Jim was a loving father and husband, an avid farmer, fisherman, gardener, hunter, cook, math-wiz, and a good neighbor. Jim was deeply connected to the land and community he called home for 87 years.
Jim is survived by his cherished wife, Velma (Cline) Scott and three children: Mary Ann Scott (and son-in-law Mehdi Sarvestani), Sherry R. Scott and James Robert Scott (and daughter-in-law Julie), as well as four grandchildren: Leila (Clay Martin), Kianna, and Kamilla Sarvestani, Jack James Scott; and one great-grandchild, Kayden James Martin. Jim was exceptionally proud of his grandchildren and particularly proud to meet his great-grandson shortly before he passed away. Jim is further survived by his brother, John (Kristi) Scott; Aunt Marguerite Workman, who was like a sister to him; and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He is proceeded in death by his parents and oldest brother Lonnie (Billie) Scott.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 8 from 5:30 p.m. -7:00 p.m. at the Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, 16560 US HWY 160, Forsyth, MO. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Sept 9, at 1:30 p.m. at the Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel also located at 16560 US HWY 160, Forsyth, MO with Pastor David Koenig officiating. A short burial will follow at the Kissee Mills Cemetery, Kissee Mills, Missouri.
