Mary Jo Shealy Adams, 82, of Cordele passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Born in Tifton, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Yawn and Mary Rebecca Ward Yawn. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Billy Adams and Wilbon Cecil Shealy, Jr. Mary Jo was an insurance agent and a faithful member of Cordele First United Methodist Church. She had a sweet spirit that everyone loved and a beautiful smile for all that she met. She loved spending time in her yard and tending her flower beds. The holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, were her favorite times of the year. She looked forward to cooking and getting ready for those special times with her family. Her grandchildren and the time she spent with them was her biggest joy. Mary Jo is survived by her children, a son and his wife, Ken and Angie Shealy of Cordele and a daughter, Sharon Jo Shealy of Atlanta; a brother, Wayne Yawn of Tifton; and two grandsons and their wives, Kenneth Trevor and Erin Shealy of Tifton and Charles Braden and Amber Shealy of Lagrange. A private family service will be held at a later time.
