He was a lifetime member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. James was a US Navy veteran. He retired from Whirlpool after 36 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on the farm with his nephew, and going to B & H Restaurant. James loved his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Maurice Bedford Greenwell, John Greenwell, Aaron Douglas Greenwell; sister Hilda French; grandson Jacob French.
Survivors include His wife of 52 years Beverly Kay Greenwell of Uniontown, KY, Daughters Kimberly (Roy) Fulcher of Uniontown, Lisa (Kevin) Ferguson of Uniontown, Buffy (Michael) Clevidence of Uniontown, Son Scott (Tammy) French of Uniontown, Sisters Mona Duff of Morganfield, KY, Marie Odom of Sturgis, KY, Bernadette Estes of Tempe, AZ, Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10 AM Saturday Jan 6, 2024 at St. Agnes Parish Hall in Uniontown, KY. Fr. Bruce McCarty will officiate. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Friday where Rosary will be said at 6 PM. Visitation Saturday will be 9 – 10 AM at St. Agnes Parish Hall in Uniontown. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Uniontown, KY, with full military rites.
