She married James Myron Flinders in 1948. She was a homemaker and they had three children. After James death in 1972, Marie entered the workforce first with Dejong's, there with Avon as a sales representative. She retired from Avon in 2018.
She was a former lifetime member of the Newburgh American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 44. Marie enjoyed weekends at her river camp, sunbathing, gardening, tending to her potted plants, and going for walks. She especially loved to have visitors, talking with her nieces, watching college basketball, and having a margarita.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, four sisters, and friend, Jack Shekell.
Marie is survived by her sons, Mike (Sheila) Flinders, Steve (Dorcas) Flinders, and her daughter, Debra Flinders (Anita Powell) all of Newburgh. Her brother Harold (Helen) Lykins of Maysville, KY, step grandson, Lane Ross (Jesse) of Evansville, several nieces, nephews, grand dogs, and cats.
As per her wishes, there will be no funeral service. A burial will take place at Lewis County Memory Gardens at a later date.
