Janet was born August 17,1954, in Peoria, Kansas, to Shirley (McCoy) Hoover and Loyd Hoover. She graduated from High School in 1972. Janet married Ray Hickcox in 1972, and they shared life and raised a family together until his passing on March 19, 2014. She received her certified nursing assistant certification and worked several years at the Osceola Hospital in the maternity ward. She retired from Shriber Cheese in 2013.
Janet was the person who took care of everyone, she was a nurturing caregiver. To the point that she did not do for herself quite often. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her life. She loved all children. Janet collected pigs of all kinds, she had them inside and outside in many different sizes. She also enjoyed crocheting.
Janet is survived by her sons, Ray (Travis) Hickcox and Ken (Rae Ann) Hickcox; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Phyllis O'Brien, Sharon Aldridge, Glennis Precht and William "Bill" Hoover; as well as many other family and friends.
She was preceded by her parents, Loyd and Shirley Hoover; her husband, Ray Hickcox; and brother Robert "Bob" Hoover.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 12:00 PM. At Parks Chapel Baptist Church, 1023 SE 450 Road, Clinton, Missouri 64735. Private family inurnment at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery. Her final resting place will be with her husband. Will take place later.
